Beeswax from the Hive
Hand-poured candles
Our candles and melts are hand-poured, and nothing is added to the pure beeswax. You can add your own choice of essential oils to wax melts, (please follow the manufacturers' safety advice for both the oils and wax warmer). Or you can use our beeswax cakes to make your own cosmetics and polishes.

Rendering beeswax
When harvesting honey, we save the loose comb and wax fragments. These are rendered into clean wax, using a simple but effective solar wax melter. This traps and magnifies the sun's heat to melt the wax and separate out debris in an upper tray. The molten wax drips through small holes into a water bath below, where it solidifies into sheets. Any impurities remain in the upper tray or suspended in the water bath.

Kind to the environment
This 'carbon zero' process uses free, sustainable energy, rather than gas or electricity. No chemicals are added, and the wax is entirely pure. Nothing is wasted: the debris is moulded into balls and used as beehive smoker lighters, or as a bee attractant in 'bait' hives to attract next year's swarms.
